Silas Fresh 48

Updated: Aug 7, 2018

The first 48 hours of your baby's life are a whirlwind. Filled with love and a sense of accomplishment... and maybe just a little exhaustion.

Most of what I remember from my oldest son's birth has been told to me by other people. The time I spend in the hospital those first 48 hours of his life are a blur to me. I have a few photos of us together, a handful of photos of him as a fresh new little human, but what I actually remember is sparse. I WISH I had photos of all the tiny details I don't remember now, all these years later.

This is why I LOVE shooting Fresh 48 sessions for other families. It freezing memories forever. It is documenting all the sweet firsts, the meetings with siblings and grandparents, the tiny fingers and toes that are still wrinkled and perfect from all those months spent in the womb.

I met baby Silas, his mom, dad and older sister Lindy (who was an absolute delight of a human. Like pure joy in human form, at 2 years old) at Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights Ohio. He was less than 24 hours old when I walked in, with all that perfect newborn magic.

Walking into their hospital room was like opening a door to extended family. The hospital threw them a pizza party following delivery (how awesome is that?!) and one of the first things they said to me was an offer to eat with them. Warm and welcoming and serene. These guys were really wonderful to work with, everything I hope for in a Fresh 48 session.
